AC Carina Football History
The AC Carina Football Club is part of the Brisbane Abruzzo Association Inc. This club was formed 28 years ago. In 1986 AC Carina Soccer Club formed its very first football team, a senior side. Following the success of the senior team, the junior section was established for the children in the local area. From its humble beginnings of two junior under 7 teams in 2001 AC Carina Football Club has increased its membership to almost 300 players throughout the club in 2008. In 2006 the club completed the construction of their club house and canteen, as well as increasing their playing fields. 2006 brought success on the field with the Under 13 Division 2 team winning the Grand Final. In 2007 the club changed its name to AC Carina Football Club following the recommendations set by Football Federation Australia. |
2007 was another successful year on the field with the Under 11 Division 2 team winning both the Minor Premiership and Grand Final. We entered our first senior team into the Football Brisbane Competition. The team finished as Runner Up in the Metro 4 League, and we also entered our first Over 35s team in the Masters Competition. Our Senior Men’s team did the club proud in 2008 by bringing home the Men’s Metro 3 Grand Final shield. 2008 saw the installation of a scoreboard and new equipment room, a fence around the main field plus upgraded lighting for night matches is next on the agenda, meeting the requirements set by Football Brisbane. We are looking forward to another successful season in 2009 and to welcoming members both old and new. |
